FIREFIGHTERS spent more than two hours tackling a blaze which ripped through a large detached house in Theydon Bois last night.

Crews were called to the property in Abridge Road after 8pm and found the property already well alight.

Firefighters were unable to enter the property for a time because of gas cylinders which were on the premises.
