AN illegal immigrant has been recommended for deportation after sexually abusing a four-year-old girl who suffers from cerebral palsy.

Milandu Achaiah, 40, abused the child while babysitting her at home in Forest Gate The incident took place in June last year while her mother was out shopping, and Achaiah was caught after the girl complained to her mother.

He was sentenced to indefinite imprisonment for public protection but was told he could be considered for parole after two years.

Taking into account time already spent on remand, Achaiah could be released in a year.

Judge David Richardson recommended he be sent back to the Democratic Republic of Congo after completing his sentence.

The judge said: "Your presence in this country is not conducive to the public good and the public need to be protected so I recommend your deportation.

"This was a particularly vulnerable person of four with a disability.

"You abused your position of trust and I believe you pose a significant risk to the public.

"You will be released when the parole board consider it can safely be done.

Achaiah, whose last known address was in St James's Street, Walthamstow, was disqualified from working with children and placed on the sex offenders register for life.

He had originally been charged with rape, attempted rape and indecent assault, but the Crown Prosecution Service dropped the charges due to lack of evidence.
