ARSENAL keeper Manuel Almunia has tipped the incoming Samir Nasri to be a Gunners legend and urged Arsene Wenger to make more signings ahead of the new season.

Almunia, who displaced Jens Lehmann as the club's number one last year, has seen his German counterpart and Mathieu Flamini leave the Emirates already this summer.

And he is keen for Wenger to bring in reinforcements to ensure Arsenal are challenging for the Premier League title next season.

"Nasri will surely be a great player but I think we need some more players to be a bigger and better squad," Almunia pointed out to a local reporter in the United Arab Emirates, where he was lending a hand to aspiring young goalkeepers.

"We are a very good squad but we are a bit short."

The Nasri deal appears to be all but done, with an announcement expected in the coming days.

And it seems that Wenger's summer spending will not stop there, as the Frenchman has been linked with a number of Europe's stars, with the likes of Roma's Alberto Aquilani and Lille's Jean II Makoun tipped as potential replacements for the departed Flamini.
