Ling looking for his Orient troops to fire at Forest

MARTIN Ling is hoping his Orient troops can get their promotion push firmly back on track at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The O's moved back into the play-off spots after a 3-0 win over Tranmere on Tuesday night.

And having secured an excellent 3-1 win at the City Ground last season, Ling is keen to get one over close friend and Forest manager Colin Calderwood and ex-O's defender Matt Lockwood.

He said: "The Tranmere result will give us confidence going to Forest, although given their stature and fantastic stadium I don't expect I will have to motivate the players too much.

"We got a great win there last season that helped turn our season round and hopefully we can come away with another positive result.

"I'm sure Colin will also been keen to get one over us, because the pair of us have always looked to beat each other.

"There is a friendly rivalry there, although both of us will want to come out on top to stay up there in the table.

"It will also be interesting to face Matthew for the first time, and I hope he would get a good reception from our away fans because he played a massive part in what I've achieved at this club in recent years."

Ling is still set to be without Clayton Fortune (shoulder), Glenn Morris (thigh), Jabo Ibehre (ankle), Alton Thelwell and Adam Boyd (both knee). Sam Oji will make the squad, having been signed too late from Birmingham to be involved against Tranmere on Tuesday night.
